The Wandering Wilds Library

Books have become such an important part of our homeschool journey. They spark curiosity, inspire new interests, answer endless questions, and often lead us down unexpected learning paths.

This collection includes books we have loved over the years—some we’ve proudly added to our home library, and others we’ve discovered through our local library. From picture books and chapter books to educational resources, nature guides, history books, and hands-on learning materials, every title on this page has played a role in our family’s learning adventure.

As eclectic homeschoolers, we believe learning happens everywhere, and books are one of the simplest ways to explore the world from home. Whether you’re looking for a new read-aloud, a resource to support a unit study, or simply a book your children won’t want to put down, we hope you’ll find something here to inspire your own homeschool journey.

We’ll continue adding to this list as we discover new favourites, so be sure to check back regularly.

Happy reading,

Our favourite Books for Curious minds

These books have become some of the most loved resources in our home. They are the books we reach for when a random question pops into conversation, when a nature walk sparks curiosity, or when someone simply asks “I wonder why?”

From weird and wonderful animals, to incredible treasures found in nature, to the secret lives of plants, these books are packed with fascinating facts that encourage exploration and discovery.

One of the things we love most about homeschooling is following curiosity wherever it leads. Sometimes a question about an octopus turns into learning about camouflage. A flower in the garden leads to researching pollination. A strange seed found on a walk becomes an afternoon of investigation.

These books remind us that learning doesn’t always start with a lesson plan. Sometimes it starts with a question.

Reads that made us laugh…

If there’s one thing we love in our homeschool, it’s a good book that leaves us laughing until our cheeks hurt.

These are our go-to favourites that have been read over and over again, yet somehow still make us laugh just as much every single time. From wonky donkeys and mischievous pigs to fish that definitely can’t be trusted, these stories have brought so much joy, connection, and laughter into our home.

Because sometimes the best memories are made cuddled up together with a book that makes everyone laugh until they cry. 📚😂❤️

Why not add them to your library too?
